Porcelain Veneers

Why the Placerville Dental Group Provides Porcelain Veneers

If you could provide your teeth with a makeover, what would you want to accomplish?

  • Whiter teeth
  • Less crooked teeth
  • A smile with no gaps
  • Teeth with no chips or cracks
  • Beautifully shaped teeth

In times past, the only way to achieve these results was with crowning, or “capping” your front teeth. That takes a lot of work and permanent shaping of the teeth, especially if you just want a good-looking smile. That’s the beauty of veneers, they improve your teeth while keeping them relatively unchanged. In effect, veneers are still your teeth, only perfect.

Installing Porcelain Veneers

Lithium disilicate matches the strength of durability of enamel with long-term dental benefits as a result.

Lithium disilicate is an advanced ceramic that is often recommended for veneers.

Porcelain veneers require two visits to the Placerville Dental Group. The first visit is to slightly reshape your teeth to make room for your veneers. In addition to traditional porcelain materials, another option for your veneers is the advanced ceramic lithium disilicate, which creates a thinner veneer requiring less preparation for your natural teeth. A mold of your teeth is then taken to create your veneers. On this first visit you’ll have a chance to discuss and choose colors with the help from our trained staff. You can match your existing color or decide to go whiter, a very popular choice.

On your second visit, your new porcelain veneers will be permanently affixed using special dental cement. Our Placerville dentists will advise you on how to care for your veneers to keep them white and shiny for many years. And while you won’t have much discomfort, we do recommend you have a driver for your second visit to get you safely home. You’ll be too busy admiring your new smile in the mirror to keep your eyes on the road.

Pricing for veneers start out at $900.
