Keeping Our Patients and Staff Safe

In the past several months, California has taken steps to gradually lift the policies, procedures, and restrictions invoked to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. In the beginning of March 2022, the governor announced that California would follow the federal mandate and no longer require vaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors. Even so, the Placerville Dental Group keeps health and safety on our list of concerns. Long before the pandemic, our dental practice followed the infection control standards set out by the California Dental Association (CDA). This requires flushing dental water lines at the beginning of each day and regular maintenance on those lines. All dental chairs are sanitized regularly. Sanitized dental tools are ready for each patient at their appointment.

Safety Beyond the Pandemic

Even without pandemic restrictions, the Placerville Dental Group analyzes the circumstances to determine if a safety precaution is still valid. If deemed necessary, we keep certain practices in effect. Our goal is to maintain staff and patient health, safety, and hygiene. Of course, the best way for you to practice good oral hygiene starts at home – by brushing for two minutes twice a day, supplemented with flossing. Keeping this regular practice helps to avoid cavities, gum disease, and other negative outcomes that appear when proper oral care at home is neglected. And every six months or so, regardless of pandemic status, come in for a routine checkup at the Placerville Dental Group. We keep a close eye on the status of your teeth and gums, documenting any issues and discussing any procedures with you to make sure you get the best oral care we can provide in El Dorado County.
