Clear Coffee to Keep Your Teeth White

Coffee can be clear now? Yes, and it is advertised as a way to keep your smile white. The manufacturer says on their website: “CLEAR COFFEE is the first colorless coffee drink in the World…produced by methods which have never been used before….If you are looking for a refreshing coffee but you want to keep your smile white, then Clear Coffee is perfect for you!”

As of now, this interesting beverage created by two Slovakian brothers (seriously) is only available in Britain and some select stores. One of the brothers is quoted saying this about its creation: “We are heavy coffee drinkers. Like many other people we struggled with the teeth stains caused by it. There was nothing on the market that would suit our needs so we decided to create our own recipe.”

Reviews are mixed and range from one person saying that drinking it was like “sipping an ash tray,” to other more favorable opinions saying it tastes like cold brew regular coffee. Of course, it’s rather expensive compared to its teeth staining cousins, so you may not want to dive into this new habit.

It’s too early to tell if this product actually works as advertised, but the clear nature of the drink makes their claim quite plausible. But you may not want to spend the money or time searching for it, so here’s an alternative, especially if you can’t give up coffee or already have stains from drinking it.

How to Keep Your Teeth White

First and most importantly, brush and floss daily. The ADA recommends brushing for two minutes twice a day with a soft bristle tooth brush and fluoride toothpaste. Gentle brushing polishes teeth and removes built up stains while preserving your tooth enamel.

Limit sugar, colas, and other acidic foods and beverages. The acid from food and drinks wears down tooth enamel and sugar accelerates the production of oral bacteria. This makes it harder to keep teeth bright and white.

Eat crunchy fruits and vegetables. Besides being healthier alternatives to sugar laden snacks, crunchy produce helps clean your teeth while you eat!

Finally, keep your regular appointments for cleanings and exams with the Placerville Dental Group. Semi- annual cleanings give your teeth a clean slate and deep cleaning to maintain a brighter smile. Our dentists also provide professional tooth whitening, with faster results than drugstore tooth whitening products. It’s still “unclear” if this new type of coffee will be a success, but we do know you can have a brighter smile with help from the Placerville Dental Group!
